Football Strengthens as the FAW and FAW Trust Merge Operations

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) and the FAW Trust have merged to make football in Wales even stronger and more sustainable for the future.

As a result, all FAW Trust staff and operations have been transferred across to the FAW following recommendations published in the independent Sustainable Associations for the Future report

The transformation would allow a more co-ordinated approach to add value to the delivery of the  ‘Our Wales / Ein Cymru’ strategic plan. The FAW has a vision to create a leading football nation, one where the game is inclusive, accessible and successful.

All FAW Trust staff, operations, finances, and processes have been fully integrated into the FAW, but it’s very much business as usual with clubs, players, volunteers and stakeholders unlikely to notice any difference.

A new facilities funding and advisory service will be established to replace the FAW Trust, with the appointment of a staff team and future grant programmes, processes and applications currently in development.

Alongside the FAW’s facility funding programmes and support, a new grassroots team is being created – with the appointment of a new Head of Grassroots who will take up their post soon. This team will be providing future support and advice to clubs, helping develop their visions and plans.
